“Apollo Beach Sunset”

STORY BEHIND THE IMAGE
From the Artist: "Apollo Beach Sunset" is a custom commission using several inspirational images from the client used to create one complete composition. Using only colored pencils on Bristol paper, layers upon layers of carefully applied pencil creates a paint like effect.
PERSONAL CONNECTION
Liane is the daughter of my cousin Charlie, from my dad’s side of the family. It wasn’t until recently, when she started posting her illustrations on Instagram, that I realized what an amazing talent she had. So, when it came time to select artists for this years’ calendar, I knew I had to include one of her works. I love the detail she’s able to create with colored pencil, especially with the turtles, and hope you take a minute to enjoy some of her other illustrations.
ARTIST BIO
Liane is a veteran of the luxury design world. Having a degree in interior design she was fortunate to work with some of the most well renowned showrooms and designers there are.
She began her career in Chicago at the Merchandise Mart in the Artistic Tile showroom. From there she moved to the iconic Chicago showroom, Holly Hunt. After a while she followed her heart to Denver where she was able to continue and build on her Chicago relationships at the Kneedler-Fauchere showroom at the Denver Design Center. She earned her MBA through Colorado State University & then joined the team at Andrea Schumacher Interiors.
Using her love of all things beautiful, colored pencils, ink and business acumen she decided to dive into the professional art world in late 2022. Her artwork focuses on items that seem like simple objects to many, but strike an emotional cord for those the piece is intended for.
Liane lives in the suburbs of Denver with her husband, young son, and fur-baby Olive.
