“Beach Abstract”

By: Jamie Oxman

STORY BEHIND THE IMAGE

From the artist: I cannot speak about art without mentioning Claes Oldenburg who said “art can be anything” There is not pretension. It rejects limits and invites freedom.

CONNECTION THE ARTIST

The Beach Abstract image is one of my favorites from this year’s calendar, because for me, I want to believe it is a beach scene with blue skies, red sun and a left peeling wave with pink white water, while others may see something completely different which is equally special.

ARTIST BIO

Jamie Oxman is a Los Angeles–born abstract artist whose work explores emotion, memory, and the fluid nature of experience. Raised in Los Angeles, she later worked as a school teacher and model before fully embracing her artistic path.

Deeply influenced by her father, Rick Oxman, her paintings carry an undercurrent of personal connection and introspection. Now based in Marina del Rey with views stretching toward the Santa Monica Mountains her work reflects a balance of structure and freedom—capturing feeling over form.
